Canadian rock group Simple Plan kicked off their World Tour in Windsor with a “sneak peek” charity concert, raising $14,103 for Transition to Betterness.
The sold-out concert at the Olde Walkerville Theatre on February 17th was launchedby Windsor’s HIT MUSIC Mix 96.7 and Canada’s CoOL-FM in honour of the late RichardCostley-White, owner of Blackburn Radio Inc.
T2B Executive Director, Amber Hunter, said T2B is blessed that the Windsor-Essex community continues to support our mission to provide comfort to patients and theirfamilies impacted by a life-altering illness.
“We would like to thank the concert sponsors: LiUNA! 625, Pete’s Pipes, St. Clair College, Windsor Express and Imaginative Group for to supporting T2B at the SimplePlan concert,” Hunter said. “We would also like to thank Blackburn Radio Inc. for bringing us this great fundraiser and all the fans for supporting our cause.”
The funds will go directly to support T2B’s Comfort Blanket Program for 2016 and 2017. This program provides adult and pediatric oncology and palliative patients with a warm, cozy blanket, which they receive at the hospital and is theirs to keep.
Each blanket is unique and hand crafted with love by our gracious volunteers to provide patients and their family with warmth and comfort while at the hospital or recovering at home. This program helps build the much-needed bridge between hospital and home.
