Transition to Betterness is very proud to announce that Carol is our Volunteer of the Month for September!
Carol has volunteered as a Concierge Volunteer on the oncology unit of Windsor Regional Hospital’s Metropolitan Campus since 2014. She always makes the patients and families feel welcome, thanks to her positive and bright personality. She is an amazing team player and is always looking for ways to improve our organization and programs. She is the epitome of compassion and kindness. Carol is a shining example of the most giving person. When we asked what she enjoyed about volunteering she said this, I love what I do. A warm smile and a friendly "hello" goes a long way. It is my pleasure to interact with the patients, family and friends. They are so appreciative of the services T2B offers - [coffee in the kitchenette, the concierge cart with complimentary items (eg. tooth paste & brushes, Hair & body shampoos, body & hand lotions, the newspaper etc), the comfort cart with drinks and snacks, the hospitality carts when they're needed. They are also very grateful for the parking passes, Tim Horton cards and Guest meal cards.] If I have made a little difference in their day, I feel very rewarded.”
The difference Carol has made is by no means little! Her generosity knows no bounds and her ability to comfort has reached many in our community. Beyond the relief she offers the patients and their families she is also a huge support to the staff and fellow volunteers on the unit.
We cannot thank you enough for your efforts and love of T2B. Carol, you should feel so proud, you are a shining star inside and out.
T2B is honoured to have you!
