Transition to Betterness is happy to announce Kelly Gregoire & Paula Beach as November’s Volunteers of the Month!
These two ladies work as a team with the Comfort Cart Program. They are the “Dream Team”.
Kelly has been with T2B for quite a few years and is a member of the Comfort Cart Program at the new Transition to Betterness Supportive Care Unit, The Stephanie & Barry Zekeleman Wing since 2013. She enjoys talking to the patients and families facilitating their daily needs. Kelly has also volunteered with the Action Committee for over 10 years and has helped recruit volunteers for the Comfort Cart Program. She takes joy in helping others and is very proud of that. Kelly says that, “In particular, I love being able to delight patients and families, to offer them a moment of joy despite some very difficult circumstances, I love how their eyes lit up when we have their favourite treat or taking some time for smiles and a few laughs.” Her ambitious, and outgoing personality doesn't go unnoticed. Kelly is always thinking of ways to help with the program and make it grow. Kelly also says, “Being a volunteer for T2B is truly a blessing with so many compassionate people. It is an honour to be part of the team.”
Paula has been with Transition to Betterness for over three years. Here are a few thoughts from Paula, “The patients that we visit are enduring a hardship that is devastating; not only to themselves, but for their families. When we visit a patient and their family for a moment and get a sincere thank you for stopping by, or a smile from the patient because that’s is all they can manage at the time, there really is no better reason…no better reason at all.”
We can't thank you two ladies enough for your efforts as the patients as well as the family members love your company on the floor.
Kelly & Paula, you should feel so proud, you are our shining stars inside and out.
T2B is honoured to have you.
